Twinkle, Twinkle

Country Living has one major advantage over the “City” Life [IMO]: STARS. The night sky is pretty dark where I live, and that makes for fabulous star gazing on clear, summer nights. Last night was one of those nights.

I was having trouble sleeping, so I ended up on the back doorstep for a little gazing of the heavens. My plan was momentarily put on hold as soon as I sat down when the security light switched on….but 15 minutes later I was good to go. It was fabulous.

I love star gazing. Staring at the heavens reminds me of how awesome, how BIG, how majestic the Creator is. It is so neat to look at certain constellations and know that those stars are the same ones mentioned in the Old Testament [Job, Isaiah, Amos], and have been around since God first placed them in the heavens. It’s hard to look at the night sky and not praise God. Glory!

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night display knowledge. Psalm 19:1
