Hickity Hike

What's this? Blogging on a Saturday???? What's wrong with me! :)

Well, I got "out of Dodge" again for another fun hike day with God. I got up early [for a Saturday]-- left a little after 8 --and headed out to my favorite getaway hiking spot, Lost Valley. It was a great day. :D I love 'running away' for some one-on-one time with God. And after the week I had, I definitely felt the need to answer His call to "arise my darling, come away, my beautiful one.." [SofS2:10]. :)

It is really awesome being in the woods on a trail early in the morning. I think I was the only one out there on the trail until almost 11. The only sounds besides my footfalls were the constant chatters, chrips, crackles and rustles of His glorious creation doing the things they were created to do. The trail at Lost Valley isn't a very long one, and I go there because it is short and frequented by a lot of hikers--so I feel safe being 'by myself'. But it is nice being out there before the crowds clog it up with their 'unnatural noise'. ;) haha It was sweet getting to stand in the middle of the woods and sing "How Great Thou Art" without worrying about being interrupted, or feeling silly.....oh, and I TOTALLY did that too!! It was GREAT! :) And so is GOD!!!!

I spent most my time again in the natural rock amphitheater.....this time, however, I was smart and brought my thermarest camp chair....it made for a MUCH more comfortable experience... ;)

In short, it was an awesome, blessed time of prayer, bible reading, and sitting in silence before the Lord.
