These are a few of MY favorite things!
Maria [aka Julie Andrews] has her ‘raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens’. Now, I am not as sing-songy as all that [well, maybe I am....he he], but I do have my own favorite things. Since I love lists, I thought I’d share a few of my ‘favorites’ with you. Mind you, these are in no order whatsoever….and it is not an exhaustive list….
- God
- God’s promises of things to come
- Homemade ice cream
- Super soft socks
- Fuzzy slippers
- Clean sheets on a freshly made bed
- Towels hung out to dry on a warm, sunny day
- The warm, fuzzy feeling you get after selflessly doing something for someone [like a stranger] who in no way has the means to ever return the favor
- The feeling you have after a hard day of physical labor [helping build a house, haul hay, build a dam, digging a trench…..you get the idea.
- The way a shower feels after doing any of the above activities.
- Sleeping in your own bed after being away from it for a long time [like a mission trip]
- A really good conversation with a friend [where you learn a lot about each other]
- Reading the Word of God
- HUGS
- Stargazing
- Frolicking in the rain during one of those awesome summer showers [when there is no thunder or lightning…]
- The smell of fall
- The sound of the woods in the morning when you know you’re the only one out there
- Hope
- Naps
- Ice cold Stewarts root beer
- Singing praises to God and worshipping Him
- Looking back and seeing the clear undeniable fingerprints of God all over the situations in your life
- Being snuggled up in bed on a stormy or snowy morning, knowing you DON’T have to get up
- Feeling warm on a cold day
- Beenie Weenies [the homemade kind my mom makes, not that gross stuff from a can]
- Smiling :-)
So, Julie can have her bright copper kettles. These are my favorite things. :-D
What are YOUR favorite things??
3 Sagacious Sayings:
I would agree with several of those things, but you forgot CHOCOLATE! :)
chocolate.....yeah....I guess...
I am actually one of those few who, while I like chocolate, would not be considered a chocoholic.
but I did forget SMOG...... ;)
sarah, i am glad that my make shift pool incident made you laugh out loud (and maybe even snort a few times) so that your co-workers looked at you weird. i can't say that i enjoy frolicking or beenie weenies, but i hope you enjoy them all.
