A Hike to Remember.......

.......I think...? :)

I went on my long anticipated hike to Lost Valley on Saturday as planned. Oh happy day!
I got a later start I had planned, due to unexpected morning showers. BUT, the rain made for a BEAUTIFUL drive over. The sky was blue, the air had just the right amount of coolness in it (and the right amount of warmness…;) ), and everything was so fresh and green from the rain. God created a GORGEOUS day for our date. :)

I had some of my most favorite worship songs programmed into my MP3 player, so I had a personal worship service on the drive. I think I looked a bit funny at times with my hand sticking out my sunroof, but, its for God, not for looks, so WHO CARES!!! :)

When I pulled into the parking lot, my silver Nissan Altima looked a little out of place between all the mud splattered Sport Utility Vehicles, but as I got out, I noticed my car was mud splattered as well, so then I felt better for her. A little mud goes a long way in making a car feel like she fits in with the “big boys”.

I made a critical mistake of wearing running shoes instead of my heavy duty, super comfy and supportive hiking boots due to a reason that I shall not go into, b/c I fear it will make me sound like a silly girl. Suffice to say, not long into the hike, I repented of my silliness and wished I had at least thrown the boots into the car. But alas, I had tennis shoes, so I had to make the best of it [my right ankle was hurting by the end of the day, but at least that was the worst consequence of my folly].

I took lots of pictures on my hike, and had fun trying out various functions on my camera. I think a few of them of kinda neat looking (IMO). I may try and post a few as soon as I’ve mastered (translated: learned) the art of….doing…..that. ;)

After hiking about for a while, I sat on a rock out of the way of the main trail and had an AWESOME time of journaling, praying, and just praising God for all the beauty around me and the many ways He has blessed me. It was a GLORIOUS time!! :) God is SO good. His mercy and grace constantly amaze me. God has been so faithful to me—especially over the last year. He is all I need. J And, that is all that I can share on my blog! ;)

All in all, it was a GREAT day. I was thoroughly worn out when I got home, which was a wonderful feeling.

Joy!

So, you were trying to make your little nissan altima look more "boyish" with the mud and all?...is that why you also parked up on the curb last night at church?...to make it look more "manly and offroad?".

...its an altima...not an x-terra.

Gotta love you Sarah J.

Hey! I parked on the curb because.....well...b/c I can't parallel park! :P I didn't have to learn or anything.

yeah, I would think that parallel parking would be fun in that! NICE! :D I have a few years before I will be "upgrading" to anything new.

hehehe, THANKS!! I do have to say, though, that it is a tad difficult stopping to type in those symbols. :)

Hmmm, I did not know that. I think I had full sun (as full as it can be in the valley) when I took most the pictures. But I thought it was kind of neat the way the sun was sparkling on the water...but I am not a photographer either....so what do I know! :) It is fun!!!!
