Confessions of a Sunscreen Nazi
In May, I posted about the vile effects of the sun on the skin, sunscreen, and sunless tanners. I shared my heart in order to prepare my dear reader[s] for safe summertime fun in the sun [heehee!]. :) For those of you who may be new to my 'green eyed view' and haven't read this post, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself. Now, I will warn you, it is a rather long post. But don't worry, I'll wait for you..........really, go ahead..........its ok, really.............go on........DO IT!.......... .......
ok, you got it? Good. So, as you can see, I have taken a pretty firm stance on this particular subject..... which leads me to my next point.....
My friends, I must confess my trangression: I HAVE FAILED YOU ALL(SOB!)! I haven't practiced my teachings (sob!)!! I am no longer worthy to hold the title of The Sunscreen Nazi (sob!)!!! I have grown lax in my daily application of sunscreen. In fact, it has been a several weeks since I have taken the time to coat my exposed skin [with the exception of my face...I ALWAYS do that...] with SPF 30. So now I must say, "Hello, my name is Sarah, and I have gone outside with unprotected skin. It has been 31 days since my last application."
I became quite irritated at myself yesterday afternoon while in my car with my windows down. The sun was beating down on my arm, and I could feel my poor skin frying. I realized that I had once again forgotten to apply sunscreen. Then, this morning, a friend sent me an article on sun exposure. I was shamed. The Nazi has become The Hypocrite......sigh...... I have confessed my transgression, and I am typing before you today to re-commit my sunscreen practices! Pale is BEAUTIFUL!! haha! ;)
2 Sagacious Sayings:
Ok, you are hilarious! Definitely protect your face. The skin care professional in me is very proud of you for that! If your arms or legs get a bit of exposure now and again, it's ok! Vitamin D is a good thing. :)
It's ok - we all do it from time to time. I especially can appreciate this because I have been ORDERED by the doctor to wear sunscreen over my entire body (well, at least the parts that stick out from under my clothes) for the rest of my life...and I don't always do it. So I'm right there with you!
